Be a friend. Be a mentor. Just be there.

What can you do with one hour a week:

Eat lunch with a friend?

Wash a load of laundry?

Watch 1/3 of a football game?

Get a manicure or pedicure?

Or you could change a life!

Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) offers many mentoring programs (some of which require only an hour of your time each week!!) in which caring adult volunteers spend time with a local child. Programs are available at many local schools, the Boys & Girls Club (downtown), and on your own out in the community with your Little. It takes no special skills to be a mentor, just someone who will be a consistent friend to a child.

Big Brothers Big Sisters’ one-to-one mentoring makes a huge difference for the youth it serves. Research consistently shows that BBBS mentoring helps at-risk youth overcome the many challenges they face. In addition to all of the positive results for the children, volunteers also gain so much from their matches. Above all, it is FUN!

BBBS is currently recruiting volunteers for all programs to be involved through the 06-07 school year. Contact us today to learn more about how your time can truly make a difference in the life of a child.

Be a friend. Be a mentor. Just be there.
